Poseidon Diving Station Nilaveli Trincomalee

April to October

trincomalee diving centreAfter nearly 40 years of diving in Hikkaduwa, Poseidon Diving Centre in Nilaveli, Trincomalee Diving Centre opened in 2010. Situated on the northeast coast of Sri Lanka, Trincomalee is renowned for its natural harbour and resident whale population; Nilaveli is famous for white sand beaches and the Pigeon Island Marine National Park. These areas provide some great dive sites for all levels of divers and the marine park is especially good for live corals, black tip reef sharks, shoals of reef fishes and turtles.

In the last few years we have explored some new dive sites nearby, including the historic Swami rock, Irrakkakandi wreck and many dive sites around the Pigeon Island Marine Park.

Poseidon Diving Centre, Nilaveli, has grown from a PADI centre, to a PADI five star diving centre and now a PADI five star instructor development centre.

The dive team consists of 3 PADI master scuba diver trainers and 4 PADI divemasters. We have 3 boats with fully trained crew operating daily diving trips for qualified divers, try diving for those who have not dived before (PADI Discover Scuba Diving), and all PADI diving courses. Begin your diving journey with the PADI Open Water Diver course, hone your skills with the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver qualification, or begin the path to a career in diving with the PADI Rescue Diver and Dive Master courses.

  •  We also arrange snorkelling trips in the Pigeon Island Marine Park and whale watching trips.
  • The Trincomalee season runs from April until October and we use the same staff from our renowned Hikkaduwa centre, so you can be assured of our high quality, safe and friendly service.
  • For Poseidon customers we have a free transport service from Trincomalee, Nilaveli and Uppuveli areas.
